Amazing how different our passage north is from the passage south! The wind has turned light, and with a fully-functioning autopilot there isn’t a great deal to do. In the afternoon we were able to hoist our Code Zero sail, and powered along at 6.3 knots in only 8 knots of breeze. To avoid complications we lowered it around sunset, and then ended up switching to motorsailing at some point during the night as the wind dropped to around 5 knots. We have enough diesel to motor (slowly!) for about half the passage so we need to start sailing again before too long, but right now there really isn’t enough wind.

In the morning we had great excitement as we caught a nice Mahi. Sadly something bigger got to it before we were able to bring it in, so no sushi for lunch today. We live in hope!

Around 8 this morning we were one third of the way to Bermuda. One boat, named Caprivi, has been close by since we left Antigua. I could see its lights on my watch overnight but by morning it had dropped astern. Aside from that, we’ve seen no boats or ships since the first night. Spirits are high and we still expect to arrive in Bermuda some time on Tuesday.
